Movie location San Fernando Valley featured in Boogie Nights

The classic movie “Boogie Nights” turned 20 and if you’ve watched it closely, you may recognize that the movie location San Fernando Valley is quite evident. Here are some places from the Valley that you can find in the movie.

Reseda Theater: It is the neighbourhood movie palace and had been closed for years. But the makers of Boogie Nights considered it appropriate for its marquee to set off the movie’s audacious opening shot. But this place now serves as a Spanish language church.

Hot Traxx Disco: Another opening crane shot was taken at Sherman Way and across Canby Ave. The shot continues by Steadicam into the pulsating nightclub. In this shot, many of the main characters of the movie are introduced to the audience.

Sound City: It is the location where Dirk tried to prove he had more than one singing talent.
